The Award-Winning Leaders of Canada’s Pipeline Industry

, ,

Each year at the CEPA Foundation Quality Summit we recognize some of the most outstanding members of our industry for their performance in the categories of Quality, Innovation, Safety, and Outstanding Contributions.

In 2021 we had a wealth of choice; so many companies and individuals who have worked hard and creatively to make our industry better, safer and more sustainable. But eventually the choice was made, and we narrowed it down to three companies and two individuals who truly deserve acknowledgement for their efforts and accomplishments.

Over the next few weeks on this blog we will be meeting some of the 2021 CEPA Foundation Award winners, but in the meantime here’s a summary of who won and our congratulations on their amazing work:

Quality Award

T.D. Williamson was recognized for their ground-breaking work in pipeline integrity, particularly the multiple dataset platform. Their efforts to refine the detection, sizing and assessment of whether a dent is in fact a gouge represent a leap forward in pipeline quality, safety and integrity.

Innovation Award

Trans Mountain was recognized for their innovative work in building a culture where everyone puts safety and environmental protection first. The Environmental Protection Rules Program helps them ensure their promises to employees, communities, stakeholders and Indigenous communities are upheld at all times.

Safety Award

Arnett and Burgess Pipeliners was recognized for their ‘FAMILY’ safety program, encompassing Focus, Assessment, Mentorship, Involvement, Leadership and You. The program demonstrates a strong and persistent commitment to making sure all their employees make it home safely at the end of the day.

Outstanding Contribution

Molly Beckel, president and CEO of the Young Pipeliners Association of Canada (YPAC), was recognized for her amazing work in supporting and encouraging tomorrow’s pipeline leaders in building an industry for the future.

Outstanding Contribution

Sarah Vandaiyar, Senior Analyst, Commercial Strategy & Competitive Analysis with TC Energy and past CEO of YPAC, was recognized for her passionate promotion of the exciting opportunities awaiting the next generation of pipeline professionals.

These winners truly represent the best of the safety culture, innovation and dedication to excellence that makes us proud to be part of this industry. Congratulations to you all and keep up the good work!
